Veteran’s Day

To celebrate Veteran’s Day this year, we took part in the Minnewaska Area Schools’ annual Veteran’s Day event. Several of our uniforms were taken out of storage and worn by student volunteers in a Uniform Parade. The uniforms spanned from the Spanish American War to Operation Iraqi Freedom. As the students walked to the front, I read a little statement about the soldier who originally wore the uniform and their service in the Military and contributions at home. It was wonderful to be able to highlight some of the wonderful items in our collection.

I’d like to thank Minnewaska Area Schools Superintendent Greg Ohl for inviting us and the student volunteers for taking such good care of our uniforms as they shared a bit of history with the large crowd.

Thank you veterans for your service to our country.
