Is the Museum Open? Not Yet…

The Pope County Museum will follow the example of the Minnesota Historical Society and remain closed while we develop and implement a comprehensive COVID-19 preparedness plan as required by the State of Minnesota.

While we look forward to the time when we can open our doors to visitors again, please know that we are working behind the scenes to create new exhibits, catalog our collection, and create digital content. Please follow us on Facebook for updates.

Our entire object collection and many of our photographs are available on-line at MNCollections.org. Additional photographs are scanned and cataloged each month.

We are also collecting stories of how Covid-19 is impacting Pope County. How has the shut down impacted you? Did you need to coordinate distance learning? How do you feel about the response to the pandemic? Please feel free to share your stories and photos with us in any format: diary, letter, photos, videos.

There is also a survey on our website to get you started sharing YOUR story of the pandemic. Click on the Covid-19 History Project above to answer a survey.
