Request for help

We recently received a request for help from a local researcher. She is looking for “moving pictures” from the Corn and Alfalfa Exposition that took place in Morris December 10-12, 1913.

The event was put on by the West Central Minnesota Development Association. They awarded a loving cup to the county who brought the most people. Pope County won the cup. The award ceremony was held in February 1914, and according to newspaper accounts, “moving pictures” of the Exposition were shown at the award ceremony.

She is very eager to find this film footage.  If anyone out there knows anything about this, please let us know.

This is a photo of the loving cup won by Pope County. This trophy is part of our collection and can be seen here at the museum.
