All 1500 images have been scanned. Most have been re-sized to print. Each soldier’s name is being printed right on the photo. Phyllis is working hard to get each photo ready to print.
The printer is humming along next to me, sending out pages of wallet-sized photos.
Jack is trimming pages of photos in the next room.
Gloria is placing the originals into photo albums.
The 4 x 8 foot sheets of archival foam core and the mountain of photo corners are all in the Pioneer Room, ready to go.
I have a shopping list for more ink and more photo paper to pick up tonight so we can keep humming along tomorrow.
It is so exciting to see this project progressing. We have been overwhelmed by the response and have appreciated all the photos and stories that have come in. Although the deadline for this update has passed, please keep the photos and stories coming and we’ll hold them until the next update.
The wall WILL be ready by Wednesday, July 21. There will be an open house here at the museum from 2-6 p.m. that day as part of the kick-off to Glenwood Waterama.
The museum is open 10-5 Tuesday through Saturday. Admission this summer is by a free-will donation. Please make plans to come and see us!
